| HOD's message |
|
 |
| “One of the first objectives of the Polytechnic of Namibia is to remain the builder of bridges between theory and practice, or as we have termed it: career-oriented. |
| |
| The Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies provides service courses for other programmes of studies with the aim to enable you to get a basic grasp of the numerous legal challenges and prescriptive demands that can arise in the working environment of your chosen career path. |
| |
| We therefore want to provide you with a firm understanding of the principles of law as they relate to the industry that you are going to enter following the attainment of your academic qualification, and importantly so, in the context in which they arise. |
 |
Mariette Hanekom
Head of Department Criminal Justice & Legal Studies |
 |
| |
| Law is like a language and learning its grammar is at times tough, and requires often going the extra mile. But once you understand the basic structure, putting your understanding to practice is quite fun, and we hope that taking upon the legal courses from the curriculum of your qualification, you will enjoy your law course as much as we do lecturing it. |
| |
| We wish you best of luck for your studies with us! |
