(i) Prevalence of Urogenital group B Streptococcus (GBS) colonization in Pretoria. (ii) Prevalence and molecular studies of M.avium, M.bovis and M. tuberculosis from different sources in Gauteng Province in this era of HIV/AIDS.
(iii) Securing and sustaining water resources through addressing linkages involving HIV/AIDS, water diarrhoea, sanitation and hygiene in rural communities in Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa. (iv) Screening of some South African Medicinal Plants for anti-microbial activity against Streptococcus agalactiae group B streptococcus (GBS). |

As globally-experienced researcher and teacher, he has strived to build an understanding of infectious disease transmission and epidemiology in developing world settings. Dr Nodens publications and work experience demonstrate the interdisciplinary nature of his research interests which include aspects of human biology (microbiology, parasitology, medical entomology), social sciences (cultural values and understandings of diseases, religious beliefs), and pathogen biology (malaria, rickettsia, TB, and HIV). |
