Facilitates the strategic planning process across the institution, |

Initiates and engage in on-going consultation with public and private sectors, relevant ministries and other national and international stakeholders |

Drive, pace and evaluate institutional development |

Supports faculties and staff to integrate international perspectives, operations and outreach into existing curricula |

Effectively publicize the Polytechnic internationally. |

| Departmental Activities |

| Strategic Planning: |
| The Department prepares the Institutional Self-study and translates institutional needs into achievable objectives. It compiles the needs-related five-year strategic plan in concurrence with the Polytechnic Community. The Department is further responsible for the annual institutional action plans and mid-term reports. The aim of the strategic planning process is to augment and sustain institutional growth to eventually gain the university of applied sciences and technology status. |

| International Relations |
|
|
| The Polytechnic is committed to offer local and internationally recognized qualifications and to produce competent professionals. By the end of the year 2003, the Polytechnic had over 30 reciprocal international partnerships. Each partnership contributes to specific institutional objectives and is instrumental in contributing to the international standards and recognition of the institution and Namibia. |
