Quality Assurance activities at the Polytechnic of Namibia date back to its inception when the institution started collaborating with stakeholders through curriculum advisory bodies and partner universities. This was significantly strengthened when the Polytechnic became affiliated to the Certification Council for Technikon Education (SERTEC) in 1999 and subsequently, to the Council of Higher Quality Committee (HEQC, a quality assurance functionary of the Council of Higher Education, South Africa), since October 2003.
