About COLL
Welcome to the Centre for Open and Lifelong Learning (COLL). Namibia is a young, rapidly developing country. We assist our citizens who wish to take advantage of personal and employment opportunities by extending access to post-secondary, career-oriented education and training at the Polytechnic through open and distance learning principles. COLL is committed to:

Flexible access and learning opportunities to quality higher education;
Programmes that meet individual's lifelong learning needs;
Provide the most appropriate and effective learning and teaching media and support services; and
Continually enhance the quality of course materials and support services.

We serve a wide variety of students. Many of our students come from the Windhoek area and are taking classes by distance education because it allows them to take courses while maintaining their employment and continuing their family responsibilities. Other students are from rural areas where they may not have easy access to learning resources. All students are valued and we support their desire to learn through decentralised support services, offered at regional centres

You may be interested to know that:
60% of our students are from the Windhoek area
65% are between the ages of 23-33
about 60% are women
90% are employed outside of the home

We welcome you and hope that you may find an educational home at the Polytechnic of Namibia and the Centre for Open and Lifelong Learning.
