Complete Assignments
Student Experience has shown that there is a positive correlation between regular submission of assignments and success in examinations. Assignments establish tutor-student interaction. You will realise that this is essential in distance tuition. Tutors maintain contact by means of individual comments on each of your assignments.

Assignments must be submitted for comments to enable you to work systematically through representative parts of the syllabus, to obtain the necessary experience in answering questions, to receive guidance in drawing up answers as regards form and content, to get to know the standard we expect of you, and to establish whether you are working along the right lines. Your assignments are, after all, the only concrete standard by which the quality of your work can be assessed prior to the examinations.

When submitting assignments, be sure that all information as requested on the assignment cover is completed. Incorrect or incomplete information will prevent the marking of an assignment. Assignments may be submitted in several ways:

At your Regional Centre
Through the COLL assignment drop box outside of the Materials
  Issue Desk
Via e-mail to collassignments@polytechnic.edu.na
Mailed to COLL. Always supply sufficient stamps when posting your assignments. The Polytechnic of Namibia will not pay penalties for assignments with insufficient postage. Such assignments will be returned unmarked to the student by the Post Office.

To assist students, a blank assignment book may be printed in MS Word format. You may also use the electronic assignment book by completing the information within the Word document and send it as an attachment by email to collassignments@polytechnic.edu.na

Submit assignments on time. Remember the following:
Assignments that are submitted after the due date will not be marked.
Medical and humanitarian reasons are the only reasons accepted for late submission. (Late submission of assignments will only be approved till 7 days, including weekends and public holidays, after the due date.)
Assignments already submitted but not passed or returned unmarked, may not be resubmitted.
Remember to give the assignment the same number as the one appearing in the tutorial letter.
Do not enclose more than one assignment in the assignment book.

Enquiries about assignments should be addressed to the appropriate COLL Student Support Officer.
