    Academics and researchers from South Africa and the Poly have installed a GPS antenna at the institution to allow the transmission of data that will be used in a collaborative research project that investigates the different levels of the Earth’s atmosphere.

    Teachers acquire new skills

    Lecturers from the Poly and the University of Namibia recently presented a 5-day workshop for a group of 25 English Secondary School teachers in Otjiwarongo. Teachers from six regions – Ohangwena, Omusati, Kunene, Oshana, Oshikoto and Otjozondjupa, attended the workshop where various presentations were given on topics including: Using the short story in the teaching of English; Engaging activities in the teaching of descriptive and narrative writing; Collaborative learning; Teaching in large classes with limited resources; Contextualising grammar; The power of positive language in the classroom and Using easy speaking activities in the classroom.
