| Hostel accommodation provides quality living quarters. There are three (3) hostels with a capacity of 440 beds. There are two (2) female hostels and one (1) male hostel. The three (3) Hostel Superintendents are assisted by ten (10) Housing Committee (HC) members. |

| Sport activities provide students with a well balanced and stimulating extra-curricular environment. It provides a platform for students to participate in a variety of sports. Students are encouraged to explore their sport talents. The Trophy Award Ceremony recognizes both sport and cultural achievements. |

| New hostel student orientation provides a platform for hostel students to become familiar with hostel rules and regulations. |

| Cultural Festival |
| The cultural festival provides students with a platform to express their cultural heritage. Extra curricular activities are vital to each student's education. The cultural festival is a weeklong event of fun and entertainment, which culminates the crowning of Miss and Mr. Polytechnic. |

| International Cuisine |
| The International Cuisine, just like the Miss & Mr. Poly, coincides with Cultural Festival. The International Cuisine took place on the Wednesday, 11 August 2011 at the Assessment centre. Dr. Tjama Tjivikua welcomed the entire guests, before the audience departed to the Assessment centre to enjoy themselves with the variety of international, African and Local dishes that was prepared by students and staff of the Polytechnic of Namibia. We also had the pleasure of hosting several embassies, such as USA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Zambia, South Africa, Botswana, Congo, China, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ghana & Kenya. |

| Christmas in October |
| The Christmas in October is an annual event organized by the Superintendents and House Committee Members, under the auspices of the Office of the Dean of Students. The event only caters for Hostel Students. The purpose of the event is to create an opportunity for the Hostel Students to get together before the Exams and to create an atmosphere of Christmas, where the Hostel as a whole can enjoy a Christmas dinner. This also serves as a farewell dinner to the hostel students. |

| The event took place on the evening of the 22 October 2010 at the Science Building Square. The atmosphere was as if it was Christmas, with Christmas decorations, lights, Christmas carols and the students even dressed as if it was Christmas. The dinner served was also appropriate for the occasion. |

| Trophy Award Ceremony |
| The Trophy award ceremony is a program which gives recognition to students who have excelled in sports and culture. |

| The Trophy Award Ceremony is an annual function hosted by the Office of the Dean of Students. The function is to give recognition to those individuals and teams that was dedicated during the year and has represented the Polytechnic nationally and internationally. This year this event was hosted on the 20 October 2010, at the Polytechnic of Namibia, Hotel School. |

| The guests were welcomed by Dr. Tjama Tjivikua, Rector of the Polytechnic of Namibia, before Dr. Donnovan Zealand, lecturer at Unam Maths & sports Science Department delivered his motivational speech. Dr. Donnovan Zealand urge the students to go that extra mile in sacrifice their commitment in order to reach the top. |

| The Sportswoman of the Year Award 2010 was Ms Natalia Haifeti who played for the Namibia U/21 Hockey team. The Sportsman of the Year Award went to Pat Neville Uanivi, who represented Polytechnic of Namibia & Tisan at the CUCSA 2010 in Botswana. The best Sport Code award went to the Poly Hockey Team, for their performance in the ladies Hockey League. |
