E-Learning: Mr Maurice Nkusi, Head: Instructional Technology
Technology integration in teaching, learning and assessment is being implemented in institutions of higher learning for some times now all over the World. In this presentation, students will be introduced to technology that is used at the Polytechnic of Namibia to enhance students learning experience. Students will learn different techniques to access and process a variety of information related to their courses. They will be shown tools that should help them to enhance their writing, reading and research skills. They will be shown how to access Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) used at Polytechnic of Namibia and how to maintain their accounts.

The Study Skills presentation will look at the skills of studying at a tertiary institution and will provide the students with information on where to go for assistance in terms of studying, exam preparation.

The Early Alert Programme (EAP) is aimed at reducing the drop-out rate of students at the institution. Its focus is to place the student at the core of its activities and is committed to creating a learning environment in which students feel supported, connected to the campus community and prepared to function optimally in society.

At the end of the 1 st day of the New Student Orientation programme, the Students' Representative Council (SRC) welcomes all students to the Polytechnic with the Polytechnic tradition- the big BBQ feast. The social event provides new students with the opportunity to meet and socialize with student leaders.
